Non-standard items that are large in size and weight are oversized. These are heavy and/or bulky shipments that cannot be transported in containers or enclosed vehicles. What kinds of cargo are oversized? These are transformers, agricultural machinery, and drilling equipment. There are many types of oversized cargo. All of them are divided into three categories:
Heavy-weight - these are items that exceed the allowable parameters in terms of weight or axle load.
Oversized - shipments whose dimensions are larger than the parameters of motor vehicles.
Long-haul shipments are shipments that extend more than two meters beyond the rear of the vehicle.
Bulky and heavy items are usually transported by road, as it is possible to choose the appropriate type of vehicle (trawl, auto mega, etc.).
Requirements for the vehicle are set by the provisions of traffic rules. In order to transport unaccompanied cargo, the vehicle must have the following parameters:
- Height - not more than 4 meters.
- Length - up to 20 meters.
- Width - up to 2.55 meters.
On the truck can be transported objects that do not exceed the dimensions:
- Height - 2.55 meters.
- Length - 13.6 meters.
- Width - 2.55 meters.
